Something to hold on to

SOMETHING TO HOLD ON TO

I believe that the things we leave behind serve as a small window into who we are. I collect these remnants and assemble them into tiny, elevated objects. My work questions value and personal habits, sometimes seeing them as synonymous. The anthropomorphic quality of the ring box and cigarette carton provided a structure to push these ideas. In some cases, my work became more literal with plaster mouth casts, using them as the inverse of an ashtray or a playground for sugar and decay. The ephemera presented becomes the possessions that possess us.
